Global Protect Installation Guide for Mac OS Users
1. To begin, you must allow third party application to install on your Mac. Open System Preferences by clicking the Apple icon and choosing the option.



2. Select Security and Privacy



3. Select the General tab and click the lock in the lower left corner to allow changes.

4. Enter your username and password then select Unlock



5. In the "Allow apps downloaded from:" section, select the box to the left of Anywhere



6. Web to https://vpn.berea.edu from any browser.

7. Enter your Berea username and password into the fields provided and click LOG IN. You will receive a DUO prompt. You must accept it in order to continue.

8. You will see three download options. Please choose the option suitable for your machine.


9. Once you click on a version, it will begin to download. The download location will depend on your browser settings. The example below is for Google Chrome.


10. When the download finishes, please run the file by opening it and allowing it to run. You will see a series of prompts where you will need to click Next. Please click the next button three times – once to begin the setup wizard, once to use the default folder installation location, and once more to begin the installation of the Global Protect client.


11. You will now be prompted with user access controls asking if you will allow the program to install. Please click "Yes" to continue.


12. The client will pop up in the bottom right corner of your screen requesting the portal address. Please enter vpn.berea.edu and then click Connect.


13. Next you will be asked to sign in with your Berea username and password. Once you enter your credentials, click Sign In. You will receive another DUO prompt. You must accept it to continue.


14. After you sign in, the client will collapse into the system tray on your taskbar.
The left image shows the Global Protect icon as it displays when it is connected. It will be greyed out when disconnected. The image on the right shows the client itself, which will open once you click on the Global Protect icon in the tray.
You can disconnect by clicking Disconnect. If you would like to connect from a disconnected state, the button will say Connect instead. To connect, simply click the Connect button and the client will connect for VPN use.


15. To close out the installation process, please click Close on the last dialog box.
